Steven Hamilton is next in our Mellon 7’s interviews. Having an opportunity to interview Steven is big, and so was getting interviews with every single rider that already has interview on the site. I also need to thank Nick for sending the interview. So please read more and get the answers about the best place, worst injury, opinion about BMX community and more. Enjoy.
1. Name, Location, Sponsors.
Steven Hamilton, Columbus, Ohio.
Animal Bikes, Federal Bikes, Empire BMX, Lord Clothing.
2. The best place to ride.
Is not the best but where you are going is going to be the best. To be there, until you get there. But not if but when, then, that is the best. But then, where you were, was. Because if you are there then you wouldn’t ride you would be frozen in time. Was it was where you were or were you where you were going? Can you remember? I’m there and it’s the best, I won’t ride I’ll freeze in time.
3. What do you think about BMX community?
I think it is very complicated and varies from city to country to state, but the main thing we have to communicate on with is bicycles. And bicycle communities are all over the world. Can you ride from one to the other? Sure, but don’t murder the messenger, we are all from our bicycle communities and from multiple opinions on bicycle war-fare.
4. What was your worst injury on or off your bike?
Playing soccer breaking my leg IN HALF was the most painful thing I could not even have imagined the excruciating pain, and a tooth-ache can be worse than any head-ache ever imagined or pain EVER. And one of the most painful experiences known to man-kind.
5. Tell a joke for kids.
Where’s the forgettable vegetable juice? I don’t know, I forgot, so why did 7 eat 9? because it came after 6. Six, 7-8-9, where’s 9? is it 7-8-9-11? Oh, I thought it went 7-8-9-10-11, but 7 ate 9.
6. What is your opinion about mellonBMX and online BMX contests?
My opinion on Mellon b.m.x is great. My opinion on contests in b.m.x is alright as long as they are filmed. My brother always wanted me to be better than our friend who lived next to my mom’s house to impress my dad so when I had to compete for neighborhood contests there was a extension on the ramp and nobody even wanted to hit it because it isn’t even fun at that point in time because it is twice as tall as my dad. So if you’re 12 and competing online the internet is beyond that comparison of two of my dads. You never know who has been hacked, who has what service and what kind of mouse or computer to compete with these days so and so has and I think it is so far removed from bike riding that is is beyond requirable to expect computer skills by and at that point and should be re-directed maybe to marketing or college / design stand-point / and video collage requirements.
7. Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank everyone on this side of the fence, from standing here I can hear everyone cheering, saying thanks. I think thanks and I think of them and my dad. To thank him is good for me. Thanks Hank!
