Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla is riding no more for Demoliton.
“Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla and Demolition Parts have decided to part ways. Mike has been apart of the family here for a very long time and we sincerely wish him the best in his future endeavors. With Mike, who knows what that’ll be. TV, movies, skydiving, wrestling gators…who knows? I’m sure he’ll be a huge success wherever he ends up. We both know there will be both questions on what happened and comments. There is no drama or anything like that. Mike and myself are still very close friends, period.
I’ll never forget the first time I met Mike. It was at my local trails that I went to everyday after school. Back then, Mike had dyed red hair and a really ghetto Haro with KNAC (local hessian rock station) stickers all over it. Back then, to even see someone else ride was an amazement all in it’s own. There weren’t a lot of riders back then and was kinda in it’s dark period. Riders were a lot tighter group then. Anyways, Mike showed up and was seriously the craziest dude I’ve ever seen ride the jumps. He had zero fear and full on hessian style. It was f-n awesome! From that day on, Smoot (George) and myself called him, Psycho. We rode everyday after school and the rest is history. I believe that was back in 89.”– Brian Castillo
